MOUNTAIN BIKING: Beech Creek Trail

← AR ANTOINE RIVER ANTOINE AR Single Tracks →

Description

Located in the Beech Creek Botanical and Scenic Areas in Oklahoma, these trails cross the headwaters of Beech Creek. The Mountain slopes of the Scenic Area surround the creek bottoms and hollows lined with large beech trees. The Botanical Area, which runs along the creek, was designated to protect and interpret the unique plant communities found here. Local area rider input: These under used trails have great potential for excellent riding, but they are usually found to be in need of maintenance. Mostly just a lot of branches or trees down. Ride the Beech Creek trail to Beech Creek, or do the Walnut Hill Loop, forget the Blue Bouncer it's a real looser. Too steep and poorly laid out. With a little use and maintenance these trails could be as good as any in the surrounding area.

Directions

From OK Hwy 63 take Forest Road 6026 south for five miles, then to Forest Road 68A for another one mile to the parking lot at the trailhead.
